How to Play Mini Baccarat

This baccarat variant has the same options as all other variants, a Banker and  Player. But the game is played at a smaller table that can seat seven players and one dealer. There are three betting spots on the table: one for the Player, one for the Banker, and one for the Tie. There’s also a spot for the 5% commission on the Banker bet, as well as chip stacks and a card shoe. The dealer always handles the card shoe in Mini Baccarat, and unlike in Chemin or Banque variants, players do not get to mix or deal the cards.

How to Deal Mini Baccarat: Card Values

Mini Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. The face value of all cards from 2 to 9 is the same. Aces are worth one point. All tens and face cards (Kings, Queens, and Jacks) are worth zero points in any combination.

In whatever combination, all tens and face cards – Kings, Queens, and Jacks – are worth zero points. Because hands cannot exceed nine in other Baccarat games, if the sum of the cards is a two-digit number, ten is deducted from the hand’s total value.  A hand consisting of a 7 and a 4 would be one. One more card might be pulled for each hand after the dealer delivers the point total for the Player and Banker hands.

In Mini Baccarat, each round can end in either a Player, a Banker, or a Tie. Because of the fast-paced nature of the rounds, Banker is the greatest bet you can make. Because the Banker hand is usually dealt last, it has a 51% probability of winning. It has a 1.06% house edge and pays 1:1.
